Man Down

One of my riding and digging buddies took a digger this passed Sunday.   He slid out entering a berm, from the best we can tell he went over the bars to the right and rolled onto the right side of his back and ribs.  The liver took the brunt of the impact after a few ribs gave.  He ended up in the hospital Sunday afternoon and suprisingly had to make the stay overnight once he found out about the liver.  One of the cracked ribs apparently lacerated the liver and they had to keep him.  I went lastnight and spent a few hours at the hospital and hung out.  Jeff, Gabe, and Alicia came by and we cracked jokes making Randy laugh in pain.  The respiratory dock said it was good to promote deep breathing, we laughed on.  Heal up quick Randy and Gabe's mom!

You never know when it's gonna bite and it often seems to be the oddest of accidents that leave people injured.  No fun!  It does make you appreciate the ability to ride when you get back on the bike but man injuries suck.
